Journal History

The International Journal of Cyber Forensics and Advanced Threat Investigations began out of a need to document advances in cybersecurity including cyber forensics and threat investigations, solutions and issues that can be examined, shared and learned from several perspectives of the academic, professionals and researchers around the globe. Cybersecurity will always be a challenge as attackers and hackers keep finding new ways to carry out cyber-attacks and cybercrimes. Although this is an established research domain, there is a need for researchers to explore and find practical solutions to combat new and emerging threats and vulnerabilities. The focus of this journal is a dual-fold: first focused on existing and established areas: Even with so many years of research and solutions contributed, there is still a sharp rise in cyberthreats. This includes DDoS attacks, data theft, social engineering attacks, etc. Second focused on new and emerging areas: New domains such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0, Blockchain, cloud & edge computing have brought upon new security challenges and opportunities. In addition, the advancement in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence incorporated with Big Data allows new techniques and approaches by improving real-time threat and vulnerability analytics.
